About

Who I Am
I’m Robby Ferguson, a Product Manager at Unchained where I help build Bitcoin-native financial services. I came to product management through an unconventional path — I started at Unchained as a QA Engineer, which gave me a close view of how products actually get built, where quality breaks down, and where the gap between technical implementation and user experience really lives. That perspective is what I bring to product work now.
While living in Hawaii, I founded and hosted Honolulu BitDevs from 2021 to 2025, building a community of Bitcoin developers and enthusiasts exploring the latest protocol developments and innovations. I’ve since relocated to Austin, TX, where I continue to engage with the vibrant Bitcoin and tech community.
What I Do
At Unchained, I work on products that make Bitcoin custody and financial services more accessible without compromising on security. Collaborative multisig, key management, inheritance, and long-term wealth management each carry their own protocol-level realities, and most of the job is getting those tradeoffs right in ways that fit how people actually think about their money. The QA-engineering background keeps me close to where things tend to break, so quality stays embedded in the work rather than bolted on at the end.
Current Focus
Right now, I’m particularly interested in:
- Agentic Workflows: Exploring how agents can maximize productivity for developers and product managers
- Nostr Protocol: Tinkering with decentralized social protocols and building on nostr
- Bitcoin Technology: Staying current with protocol developments and Layer 2 innovations
